Four Honest Comparisons — Including The One Where You Do Nothing.

You have already made the expensive decision. This page is about the cheap one that decides what the expensive one was worth.

Us vs. doing it on your own

This is the real competitor, and it is worth being straight about it: plenty of people recover reasonably well on their own. The problem is that you find out which kind of person you were at month six, and the corrections that would have been simple early on take a lot longer to make.

Sue did exactly this. First round of injections, no specialist, her own judgement — she is a CrossFit coach, so her judgement is better than most. “In hindsight, I did way too much way too soon. When I went back at six months, I had not had any improvement.” She ran the second round with a written plan and felt the change at ten weeks.

Us vs. general physical therapy

No criticism of your local therapist is intended, and most are very good at what they do. But there is no certification in post-injection recovery, and a standard protocol run on a treated joint progresses you on how you feel that day rather than where you are in the healing timeline. Those are different things, and early on the difference costs you.

Ron put it plainly: “Yes, you can go to your physical therapist around the corner, but they're not going to have the knowledge of knowing how to do this.”

Us vs. the aftercare sheet from the clinic

The sheet is not wrong. It is a rest period and a follow-up date, and it is accurate for what it covers. What it is not is a plan for everything after that, which is most of the time your result is actually built in. A sheet cannot tell you what you are cleared to do on a Tuesday in month three.

Virtual vs. in person

The honest answer is that the plan matters more than the room. Both tracks run the same thing — Dr. Chris’s Recovery Method, six phases with a clearance rule at every stage. Virtual is our main track and most of our clients are on it, some of them on other continents. In-person adds hands-on regenerative therapy, which is worth having if you are close enough to use it.

Before your next appointment, read page 6

You leave the clinic with a rest period and a date to come back. What almost everyone wants to know is what happens in between — and without that, people either sit still far longer than they need to, or go straight back to the old routine and pay for it.

Page 6 is the green, yellow and red clearance page. What you can do right now, what waits, and what to stop. Fifteen pages, and it costs nothing.
